ISCC Certificering - Scope Collecting Point
ISCC EU Collecting Point
A Collecting Point under ISCC EU plays a crucial role in the collection and management of waste and residues that qualify for certification. A Collecting Point acts as the intermediate entity that receives waste and residue materials from different points of origin (such as production facilities, farms, or other sources) and then passes them on in the sustainability chain.
The primary purpose of a Collecting Point is to ensure that the materials being collected meet the strict definitions and criteria of ISCC EU. This means that the materials must not have been intentionally produced or modified to be considered waste or residue; they must be genuine waste or residue, generated during other production processes or activities. For example, used cooking oil (UCO) or sawdust from the timber industry can be considered waste streams eligible for ISCC certification, provided they are correctly classified and documented.
In addition to collecting and storing these materials, the Collecting Point is also responsible for the initial assessment of the materials to ensure they meet ISCC criteria before they are further processed or passed on in the supply chain. This includes verifying the origin, the nature of the material, and the proper recording and maintenance of these records. The Collecting Point must therefore establish a robust system of documentation and traceability to ensure sustainability and compliance with ISCC standards.
